About Skills Development Programs
The collection and analysis of marketplace information is the foundation and a critical component of the planning, tactical and operational processes for all businesses.
Among the demands on business research professionals is a growing emphasis on more productive, efficient and effective information collection. It is challenging to become and remain current and knowledgeable regarding the sources, tools and techniques available at any particular time.
Even the brightest and most capable research professionals struggle to stay on top of these changing resources. However, we can help you build the necessary collection skills and a resulting clearer picture of your respective marketplace, ultimately leading to competitive advantage and business success.
- Our process
We monitor the information landscape to learn about current sources, tools and techniques; work to understand how they can be applied to the business decision-making process; and share them in a clear, relevant, practical and convenient format — during our skills enhancement programs. - Content
Each program presents content that will empower and enable business researchers with knowledge regarding current, useful and productive information sources, and tools and techniques for collecting intelligence about your marketplace. Our webinars, seminars and workshops focus on publicly available information—including, but not limited to, news, financial and company information sources, public records and filings, legal and government records and filings, and intellectual property information—and their business applications. They also cover useful and productive Internet sources for business research.
These sources will include those that are available electronically, in print, via document delivery providers, and through the United States’ Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
- Format
The programs are typically presented in a lecture format in a classroom setting—virtual or physical—with supporting materials provided and as much interactivity among the facilitator and group of attendees as is accommodated by each respective venue. In some circumstances, relevant case studies will be shared and practical exercises presented as well. The programs range in duration from one hour to a full business day (or more). - Fees
Program costs vary, though they are generally priced per participant. Please contact us for details and group pricing.
